2003 CO-AMATUER ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

CHRISSY FLOYD

Chrissy Floyd is a native of Laurens, SC, and a star for the Lady Tigers basketball team.  In high school, she scored 1,408 career points and helped her team to win back-to-back state championships in 1998 and 1999.  At Clemson, she led the team with 45 steals and 17.6 points per game.  She is only the second player in school history to lead the Lady Tigers in scoring for four straight years and to be named All-ACC for four years running.  She has been named to the ACC's 50th Anniversary Team and the Kodak All-American team for the second year in a row.  In 2002, she finished the season with a streak of 20 point games, the first Lady Tiger to do that since the SCAHOF's own Barbara Kennedy nearly 20 years ago.  Chrissy was just recently drafted in the third round to the Seattle Storm of the WNBA.
